Environmental Health Awareness
CLIMATE CARE – April 2024
Today, the pressing issues of climate change, biodiversity loss, and sustainability demand our immediate attention. Despite ongoing efforts, these challenges persist, worsened by our unsustainable lifestyles. Unfortunately, marginalized communities bear the brunt of these impacts. Without swift and unified action, we risk irreversible harm to our environment.
In response to the environmental challenges we face every day, this April, CBN Foundation is advocating the empowerment of students to become Knowledge Champions for Climate & Biodiversity. Through engaging workshops including nature walks, discussions, and activities focused on climate change, biodiversity, and sustainability, we strive to raise awareness and ignite action among minds. By arming students with knowledge and skills, we aim to cultivate a generation dedicated to reducing plastic usage, conserving resources, and promoting sustainable habits.
With your support our teams can continue this vital work in marginalized communities, igniting awareness and driving positive change for a healthier planet. Contribute at www.cbnf.org and help us do more. Visit our Instagram and Facebook pages to see how your support is changing lives.

Climate change – June 2023
While many of us enjoy the luxury of fuel-consuming cars and air conditioning, we often forget that our planet’s fuel is limited. Marginalized communities suffer the consequences the most, enduring extreme heat, scarcity of water and food, and no respite. This is just a glimpse of the distressing reality of climate change. Climate change is not a distant issue; it’s already here, impacting us severely. Unfortunately, many fail to grasp its gravity. However, we can’t wait any longer.
Families in remote communities with limited resources suffer the most. Erratic weather patterns cause hunger and weakness. Rising temperatures and changing rainfall patterns lead to water scarcity, affecting marginalized communities access to clean water and agriculture. It also harms our environment, endangering plants, animals, and biodiversity.
This June, join the CBN Foundation Climate Care Campaign. We aim to raise awareness about climate change’s impacts and the link between our actions and its consequences. Through workshops, we’ll educate children and families from marginalized communities, and discuss changes needed to reverse the damage and prevent further damage.
Your support can help create a community of climate champions who understand the urgency and are ready to take action, in every community. Your support will help us reach those facing climate dangers without the means to adapt. Together, let’s make a difference! Lifestyle for Environment – May 2022
Have you noticed that Delhi has plastic mountains? They are landfills filled with unimaginable amounts of trash. Delhi on its own produces around 10,000 tonnes of garbage every day. A huge amount of this waste is being dumped in the overflowing three landfill sites of Delhi. To make matters worse, these garbage piles that plague our city catch fire and cause unbearable stench and air pollution that blows far and wide, contaminate water and put lives at risk, and often partially collapse causing irreparable damage and even death. Unlike how we love to drive on the hills of Mussoorie and Manali, trucks drive on these plastic mountains to dump even more garbage at the top. Surely the view wouldn’t be all that great!
We’ve been speaking to families in remote communities about the three R’s – recycle, reuse and reduce. And this month, we are directing our energy towards spreading valuable knowledge about eliminating single use plastics in our daily life. With the government’s new rule of banning all single use plastic items coming into effect form July, we have been working on innovative, and very doable steps. From using steel bottles and dabbas instead of plastic ones to using beeswax cloth instead of cling film, we’ve got numerous ideas on zero waste living.
Visit our Instagram and Facebook pages to be inspired by simple yet effective ways to eliminate plastics, and do share ways you’ve been caring for the environment. Every single family taking small steps towards eliminating plastics and reducing waste makes a big difference to the environment. Additionally, your support towards supporting the Lifestyle For Environment Campaign will enable our teams to reach out to more remote communities to spread this crucial knowledge.

Sustainability & Inclusion – April 2022
Recycling and reusing have been ingrained in the Indian culture from a time before sustainability became a buzzword. Whether it be passing down clothes to younger siblings which eventually become a duster and then a mop, or selling off old newspapers, notebooks and utensils to the kabadi wala to utilizing kitchen waste to nourish plants and feed cattle. Creatively, newspapers have been folded into paper bags, old tins of malt drinks have been recycled into pots for plants and scraps of fabric stitched together to form patchwork quilts.
Despite the numerous household sustainability practices and culture of recycling waste, we have managed to damage the environment with our careless practices. Simple habits that align us with nature and living a more mindful lifestyle are needed. We also must recognize the force behind the sustainability practices we have learned and followed for generations – women.
It’s no secret that climate change has always affected women and men differently. No matter the challenges, women have managed to find innovative ways to procure and save water, supply food, and find fuel for cooking and heating. These agents of change must be made a part of the solution towards a sustainable tomorrow.
This month, CBN Foundation is promoting sustainability practices and the inclusion of marginalized and differently-abled. On International Women’s Day, we are delighted to introduce you to the inspiring differently-abled women who have risen above all challenges to contribute to the work of CBN Foundation.
With your support, women and families in marginalized communities can learn about clean, renewable resources and other modern sustainability practices. Contribute to the work of CBN Foundation and help us make sure everyone is included and appreciated as we all work to increase sustainability practices. Climate Care – February 2022
Starting day one of this new year, CBN Foundation is set to ensure every single day is used to enable a more sustainable lifestyle for remote communities. We are interacting with communities across India, through our awareness workshops, to teach the best practices on global warming, avoiding single-use plastic, water conservation, and composting among many other topics to be 1.5 degree Celsius closer to conserving our planet.
The impact of throwing unsegregated garbage, using plastic only one time or letting taps leak is no longer on the distant horizon. It is here NOW! Our use and throw culture needs to end to prevent a rise in global temperatures. Environmentalists say that there is no time left to debate this. Action has to be taken immediately. While rapid and significant changes need to be made by our global systems, as individuals, our lifestyles make a big difference too. Being more mindful of our textile waste and food waste, saving more water and using eco-friendly products are some simple changes we can start making to get closer to our sustainability goals.
With support from partners like you, CBN Foundation can empower underserved communities with information and practices critical to saving the environment. Through our awareness workshops this month, more than 1000 children will learn skills that will make their carbon footprint smaller and their lifestyle more sustainable. Join us to ensure that more families are enabled to make life-saving environmental changes this year. See the difference you are making on Instagram and Facebook.

Climate Care – June 2021
At CBN Foundation we are focusing on creating awareness about Climate Care. We are addressing the issues of climate change, the discontinuation of single-use plastic and the urgency of water conservation. We will do this through a series of workshops which are designed to sensitise the youth about plastic pollution caused by single use plastics and the urgent need for water conservation. A Water Conservation Concert and a recycling event have been planned among other things, to create awareness in a creative manner.
Please support CBN Foundation to do more to take active steps towards Climate Care. With your support we can educate and empower people to take steps towards making positive changes for the climate.
