Tansira’s Second Chance at EducationAt just eight years old, Tansira’s life changed dramatically when she lost her mother. As a result, she and her family faced immense financial and emotional struggle. Her grandmother continued to work in order to support the family, which meant that many responsibilities of the home fell onto Tansira’s shoulders. This included looking after and bringing up her younger brother. Balancing these duties with school unfortunately became impossible for her, and Tansira was eventually forced to leave her education behind while only in Class 8.

Sewing Training Changed Her Life

For a long time, she wondered if she would ever get the opportunity to study again. Like many young girls from vulnerable backgrounds, unfortunate and difficult circumstances interrupted her education and limited her opportunities for the future. However, after being introduced to the CBN Foundation, her life began to change as her aunt encouraged her to enroll in their Sewing Training Programme.

Over the following six months, Tansira diligently attended the sewing programme and worked hard to build skills, hoping to create a more stable and secure future for herself and her family. During her time with the CBN Foundation, one of Tansira’s teachers noticed that she was no longer attending school. After hearing her story and understanding her sincere desire to study again, the teacher encouraged her to resume her education and advocated for her future.

Returning to Class 10

With the help of the CBN Foundation’s donors, Tansira received the financial backing she needed in order to support her decision to return to her studies. She was then enrolled in Class 10 through Open School via the scholarship, which made it possible for her to continue her learning journey.

Beyond the funding, the support and encouragement that Tansira received from both her teachers and the CBN Foundation restored her confidence in herself and reminded her that her education was deeply important. Their belief in her potential inspired her to believe in herself once again.

Restoring Hope for Vulnerable Girls

Tansira’s education journey embodies the importance of supporting disadvantaged children in accessing their right to education. As a result of difficult circumstances, many children, especially young girls from vulnerable backgrounds, are forced to abandon their studies.

Tansira’s story reminds us that encouragement, mentorship, and financial support can go a long way in changing the lives of these children for the better by allowing them to reclaim their learning journeys, rebuild their confidence, and restore hope for their futures.
