CBN Foundation is a non-profit organization, headquartered in Gurugram (Delhi-NCR). It was established in 2011.
CBN Foundation is committed to build and nurture thriving communities through the core programs of Environmental, Social and Preventive Health awareness.
OUR CORE INTERVENTION PROGRAMS
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH
The Environmental Health program focuses on taking environmental awareness to action and demonstrates how concrete changes in lifestyles and consumption habits can impact the environment positively. Under this program, CBN Foundation conducts awareness sessions and workshops on the 3 R’s – Recycle, Reuse and Reduce. One such campaign is Empower Dignified Periods where women from remote places are given reusable, eco-friendly, cloth pads made from tailor-waste in a Period Kit that enables them to experience dignified and safe periods every month. The Period Kits are made by differently-abled artisans in Ladakh making them a source of comfort for the receivers and a source of livelihood for the artisans. Gradually the women are also being trained to make their own Period Kits. Through Awareness and Recycling Workshops, experts share how each person can reduce waste by making some shifts in their lifestyle, and how everyone can recycle and reuse the things they have. SOCIAL HEALTH
The Social Health program aims to create positive impact and raise awareness on social health issues. CBN Foundation’s most ambitious endeavour towards building and nurturing low-income and vulnerable communities is through a holistic approach for a deeper, lasting and sustainable impact. Some of our campaigns include Mental Health awareness, Good Touch Bad Touch, Right to Education, Inclusion of differently abled artisans through Social Role Valorization workshops and online Cyber Safety workshops. PREVENTIVE HEALTH
Preventive Health is the use of recognized proactive health screenings, counselling and maintenance to prevent future illness and treatment. Given how disproportionate the doctor-patient ratio is in India, taking care of one’s health becomes even more important and this is why Preventive Health becomes relevant. CBN Foundation is working towards spreading awareness on the importance of inculcating healthy & hygienic living, nutrition and anaemia, immunization and women’s health in particular. One such campaign Health in your Hands (HIH) focuses on educating and bringing medical awareness to people living in remote places with poor access to water, sanitation and hygiene. CBN Foundation’s Nutrition & Anaemia awareness workshops are striving to combat these alarming numbers. The workshops are designed to promote Vocal for Local and planning and preparation of nutritious meals that include foods that are locally produced and easily accessible. Prevention of water borne disease, awareness on immunisation, the use of ORS and basic First-Aid are some of the other topics the Preventive Health sessions cover.
